What Are The Laws That Construction Workers Must Follow When They Intend To Stop Traffic?
I thought they had to have a flagman wearing an orange vest and carrying a stop sign.
Some guy stepped out from behind a bulldozer forty yards in front of my car wearing jeans and a T-shirt and holding up his hand.
So I swerved around him.
He chased me all the way into the dirt of the far left shoulder, hit my car with his fist, and cussed at me.
I was also the only car for miles on a country road.
I think he wrote down my license plate number so I was just wondering if I should expect a ticket.

with the new laws in construction areas on roads if someone waves you to stop it would be prudent to do so – save yourself a lot of cash – what if the guy was waving because he saw the legit flagman get clipped by a car and was trying to prevent you from running over him? err on the side of safety when you are driving people – leave yourself room to manuver and avoid collisions and injuries.

You are right about this. Those are the req. on any state worker who is on a highway project whether a worker or flagman. I stand 6’0″” and weigh 240 lb. I would have got out and wooped his rearend and then had him arrested for assault and any damage to my car. P.S. DO NOT STOP FOR ANYONE WHO ISN”T PROPERLY IDENTIFIED !!!! Be it a cop,state worker or anyone who doesn’t carry ID saying who and what they are

NO THE GUY WAS A JACK *** AND U SHOULD HAVE BUZZED HIM FOR STEPPING OUT INTO MOVING TRAFFIC SOME GUYS JUST THINK THERE INDESTRUCTIBLE WELL THE GRAVE YARD IS FULL OF GUYS LIKE THAT

The laws may vary from state to state but if I were near any
sort of construction and a guy stepped out and waved me off
I would just stop and let them proceed. Let them move their
equipment and then get on w/ your own business. No big deal.
Why would you want to swerve around them? A medical
emergency perhaps? I’m not trying to be critical, I just don’t understand your reasoning.
Maybe you can enlighten me on that.
