I Have A Question On A New House. I Bought A New House Last Month?

I moved in May 29, Basement started leaking by window. Found out after inspector came in May 18 and Okayed inspection the builder of the home inserted a grid in basement window on May 23
When basement window was leaking builders came in and patched up window a **** job. Now we found out the machine they aused a bulldozer to put grid in bounced in to wall. they have broke the foundation the beam in basement by cement is cracked was told by village inspector there is structrual damage. Builders are screwing us around telling us they have tried calling a structrual engineer they haven’t called back need help Do I get a lawyer what kind of lawyer. What about homeowners insurance. How do I fight this. We bought a new home so we wouldn’t have anyones elses trouble. Has anyone been in this situation?

    Get yourself a real estate attorney immediately, preferably one who specializes in construction law. You have an excellent case against the builder. Good luck!

    I know this does not help you out much, but from what I’m seeing with your situation, I would definitely agree with the fellow that said get a real estate and contract. attorney.

    Nice solicitation…, you can point out the obvious to try to prove your smart to everyone, and then try to steer the poor person after the fact. Do everyone a favor, crawl back under your rock.

    Didn’t you get a New Home Warranty?
    Let me guess – since this was New Construction, you bought it with out the use of a Buyer’s Agent?
    With EVERY home purchase, you should be represented by a Buyer’s Agent looking out for YOUR best interest! You best believe the builder used one to look out for his/her best interest.
